Protest as Anambra trader pays N100,000 to apprentice after nine-year service

Some traders and apprentices in International Electrical Market, Obosi/Onitsha, Anambra State, on Saturday staged a protest in reaction to a trader giving his apprentice N100,000 after serving him for nine years.

The protest reportedly occurred in front of the man’s shop as the group chanted ‘Enough is enough; the revolution has started,’ Punch Metro reports.

They stated that the sum of N100,000 was too small considering the fact the apprentice served his boss for nine years. They subsequently demanded that the money be increased to a more substantial sum.
