Katie Boulter crashes out of Wimbledon in third round thrashing against Harmony Tan

Katie Boulter has lost her third round Wimbledon clash against France’s Harmony Tan after being brushed aside 6-1 6-1 in just under an hour of play. 

The 25-year-old lost the first set within 27 minutes of stepping out onto Court No.2, before bowing out with a double fault in the second after just 24 minutes. 

Britain’s number three struggled to cope with the Frenchwoman’s variety of play and signature drop shots, which saw her knock out titan Serena Williams in a first round epic. 

Tan dominated proceedings, winning 86% of points at the net and smashing 16 winners compared to Boulter’s eight. 

Boulter also made 21 unforced errors to Tan’s five and struggled with her serve, losing match point with a painful double fault and only managing one ace in the match, while Tan had four. 

British hopes will now turn to Liam Broady, 28, who will face 23-year-old Australian Alex de Minaur – who happens to be Boulter’s boyfriend. The clash is scheduled for 1pm on Court 1 today.
