House Of The Dragon premiered on Sunday on HBO and the prequel fantasy series drew a strong reaction on social media from tearful fans who were excited to finally see the anticipated spin-off series air.
Twitter lit up after the premiere episode titled ‘The Heirs of the Dragon’ introduced the setting and main characters of the show set 200 years before the events of the highly popular series Game Of Thrones.
The premiere episode set up a succession drama as King Viserys I Targaryen named his eldest daughter Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as heir to the Iron Throne over his troublesome brother Prince Daemon Targaryen.
One Twitter user noted that within the first 25 minutes of the first episode in the ten-part series, viewers saw a ‘crazy power hungry relative’, a death, a ‘wagon of body parts cut off’ and a sex scene.
Fans were left in tears as the prequel which is airing four years after Game Of Thrones concluded in May 2019 following eight seasons on HBO.
