David Norris has been allegedly using the smartphone to call and text his mates, use Facebook and watch videos on YouTube.

One of Stephen Lawrence’s killers got hold of a smartphone and sent prison cell selfies to friends outside, reports say.

David Norris, 46, has been allegedly using the smartphone to call and text his mates, use Facebook and watch videos on YouTube.

One astonishing mirror selfie shows him wearing a gold watch and aviator sunglasses in his cell, which is kitted out with an Xbox and TV, the Mail reports.

Norris also reportedly updated his WhatsApp status to indicate his impending release from jail, claiming he would be ‘coming home in 2 to liven you all up’.

He is now facing a criminal investigation for the alleged breach of prison rules, which forbid inmates having phones.

Norris – who is apparently nicknamed ‘Nozza’ – has been placed in segregation away from other prisoners, while officers search the cells and attempt to shut down any social media accounts linked to him.

If found guilty, it could result in his 14-year jail sentence being extended by up to two years.

Five men were arrested over Stephen’s racist murder after he was stabbed to death aged 18 in Eltham, south-east London, in 1993.

Just two of his killers, Norris and Gary Dobson, were brought to justice. Both were given life sentences in 2012.

In May, a bid to move Norris to an open prison was blocked by then-justice secretary Dominic Raab amid fears he still posed a risk to the public
