Drunk soldier allegedly kills Plateau villager

Adrunk soldier celebrating his birthday has allegedly killed Joseph Jelmang in Marish community of Bokko local government area of Plateau State. 

According to the Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC), the incident occurred on April 22. 

BCDC, in a statement by its chairman, Barr. Farmasum Fuddang, in a statement, condemned the incident.

It alleged the solder identified as Gideon fired random shots while celebrating his birthday at a relaxation centre, which killed Jelmang. 

The body said: “We strongly condemned the perpetrators’ desperate attempt to conceal the crime by falsely labeling the innocent passerby and residents who tried to save his life by transporting him to the hospital as militants.

“We demand the swift and decisive action of the military authorities and the Attorney General in apprehending and prosecuting the perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law.”

BCDC also demanded the immediate release of all those arrested by soldiers in Marish on April 22 and previously.
