Protestors holding ‘Justice for Chris Kaba’ signs gather outside the Old Bailey after Met marksman who shot him dead is found not guilty of murder – as police release footage of moment officer opened fire

Protesters holding ‘Justice for Chris Kaba’ signs gathered outside the Old Bailey tonight after the marksman who shot him dead was found not guilty of his murder. 

Martyn Blake, 40, was dramatically cleared today after being accused of shooting dead Mr Kaba, 24, ‘without justification’ to stop the fleeing suspect escaping police.

The victim’s family say they have been left without justice and are ‘devastated’ by the jury’s verdict. 

Tonight, demonstrators including Black Lives Matter protesters have gathered outside the Old Bailey in central London holding placards and banners in opposition of the verdict. 

One large sign reads ‘Police are Perpetrators’ while several others say ‘Justice for Chris Kaba’. 

Earlier in the day, a protest in London saw hundreds of demonstrators chanting ‘What do we want? Justice. When do we want it? Now. Say his name! Chris Kaba.’
