The adhoc Committee on the alteration of the 1999 Constitution set up by the Katsina State House of Assembly has commenced public hearing on the 5th Alteration Bills in the State.
Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly Hon Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki informed Stakeholders during the hearing in Funtua that as part of the constitution review by the national Assembly, Nigerians are allowed to make inputs the exercise which will be the position of the State to be forwarded to the National Assembly.
He explained that the Katsina State House of Assembly mandated the Adhoc Committee to collate the views of the people in each of the 34 Local Government Areas in the State
Hon Tafoki added that local Government Areas in each of 3 senatorial zones are divided into two with stakeholders comprising Government officials, traditional and opinion leaders as well as the Youths, Women and Non Governmental Organisations.
