Nigerians doubting Tinubu's presence of mind now convinced he's not fit –Dino Melaye

The presidential candidate had compared Nigeria’s compliance with global climate change directives to preventing “a church rat from eating poisoned holy communion”.

Nigerians who had doubts about the presence of mind of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, are now convinced that he is not fit, the spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Management Committee, Dino Melaye has said.

Melaye stated this in a statement following some controversial statements made in public by Tinubu, with the latest coming as his response to a question about climate change.

The presidential candidate had compared Nigeria’s compliance with global climate change directives to preventing “a church rat from eating poisoned holy communion”.

But Melaye in a statement said “it would have been honourable for Tinubu to simply admit that he didn’t know what climate change is”. “Again, that exposed his limited understanding and poor preparation for governance,” Melaye said.

He added that any leader who does not understand the basics of climate change, especially with the ongoing flooding in Nigeria and the economic conflict arising from farmers and herders’ crisis, has no business aspiring to lead the country at this moment…
