Onitsha stands still for Ikpeazu as residents, supporters storm roads for solidarity march

The commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State was temporarily shut down following a solidarity March organised for a member representing Onitsha North and South federal House of Representatives, Hon Lynda Chuba Ikpeazu for her re-election into the House in next month’s election.

The residents, traders and supporters of Hon Ikpeazu stormed the major streets and roads in Onitsha in support of her re-election to the House due to her laudable achievements and performance over the years.

They marched through major roads and streets from Oguta road to Awka road through Onitsha Main Market to Fegge back to Inland town Onitsha at Ezechima primary school for the rally. They marched with different types of musical instruments, cultural troupes, and dancing masquerades dancing.

The Director General of Lynda Ikpeazu Campaign Organisation, Chief Frank Onuoha described the road show/March as selfless and voluntary service as the constituents were on their own joined the march defiling the scorching sun due to the love they have for Ikpeazu.

He said that numerous works of Ikpeazu in Onitsha North and South was enough campaign for her and she doesn’t need to do more campaign because the roads, empowerment, skill acquisition training, streetlights, and free medical services among others she attracted has made her more popular and loved by the people.

“This solidarity road show/march is in support of the mother Theresa of our time who has put smiles on the faces of her constituents due to her various life-affecting programmes and activities. As you can see that many traders and residents despite the hardship and scarcity of money, defiled all these to join in the show which is the mother of all the shows in the commercial city.
