Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike said that Senator Dino Melaye lacks the qualifications to be the governor of Kogi State.
“Dino does not have what it takes [to be a governor] for crying out loud,” Wike said this during a media chat with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday. “He knows me very well. He does not have what it takes to be a governor.”
Wike stated that Melaye will not win the Kogi State governorship election and noted that the mere fact that he was allegedly used to attack opponents of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar does not mean he is popular enough to win the election.
“When you give Dino that ticket, you know he won’t win in Kogi State,” Wike said. “Why would Kogi people say they would vote for a candidate like Dino? Are we joking?”
