Emeka Beke, Rivers State chairman of dissolved All Progressives Congress (APC) has fingered the Minister of Federal capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike as responsible for what is happening in Rivers APC, stressing that they won’t fold their hands and allow the former Rivers State Governor destroy Rivers APC.

Speaking on Arose TV on Monday, Beke accused Wike of having caused problems in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has moved to the APC to destabilise the party they have built over the years.

He said, “The Minister for FCT, Nyesom Wike is the one that is causing problems in Rivers APC. He has finished causing problems in PDP he is now causing problems in APC to create a crisis, and we won’t accept that. This is the same character that said he wouldn’t get into cancer.

Answering questions as to why he insists he is the state chairman when a caretaker chairman in the person of Tony Okocha has been appointed, he said, “I can tell you that we have illegality at the national secretariat of our great party. I was duly elected on the 18th of October 2021 as the chairman of the party. I wasn’t handpicked. Delegates came from across the 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state to elect me as chairman with my exco. There’s no crisis in Rivers APC, to say that is the reason to dissolve the exco.

“The APC has been one party. I went round the 23 LGAs and 319 wards in the state to campaign for my governorship candidate, Assembly candidates and the president, nobody challenged my position. Now that we have victory, you say caretaker. What kind of caretaker is that?
