Fubara: Odili’s support is making my opponents’ blood pressure rise

In the ongoing political saga unfolding in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has underscored the steadfast support his administration receives from key figures, notably former governor Dr. Peter Odili. This backing, exemplified by Odili’s recent proclamation of Fubara as the political leader of Rivers State, has served to unnerve critics and adversaries alike. The declaration come

s amidst the escalating feud between Fubara and his estranged political mentor, Nyesom Wike, who presently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The rift between Fubara and Wike, which erupted last October, has plunged Rivers State into a tumultuous power struggle, with influential political figures and power brokers aligning themselves with either camp. Odili’s public endorsement of Fubara further deepens the divide, adding complexity to an already volatile political landscape. As tensions continue to mount, the implications of these developments on the future trajectory of Rivers State remain uncertain.

In a statement on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, Fubara expressed delight over Odili’s declaration, saying his detractors were already having blood pressure over Odili’s pronouncement.

Fubara said, “I’ve said it before, and I’m saying it again, it doesn’t matter the number of people that stand with you. Even if you’re standing alone, no matter the side you’re standing on, provided you are standing on the right side, maintain your stand. And we are happy to stand with him (Odili).
