Imo Assembly suspends four members for ‘hatching impeachment plan’

The Imo State House of Assembly has suspended four members for allegedly plotting to impeach the Speaker, Chike Olemgbe.

The suspended lawmakers are Samuel Otuibe, Henry Agbasonu, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa, and Dominic Ezerioha.

The Speaker announced the suspension during an executive session and retrieved all standing committee assignments from the suspended members.

The reason for the suspension was an alleged plan to impeach the Speaker, according to the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Peter Uwa.
