In an open letter to President Bola Tinubu, Dele Momodu, a 2023 presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, warned against the ongoing political tensions in Rivers State and pleaded for stricter discipline from the administration, particularly from Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Momodu, despite being an opposition member, portrayed himself as a well-meaning friend who has known Tinubu for decades.
