Tinubu vows to promote rule of law, ease justice administration

President Bola Tinubu has vowed to continue promoting the rule of law and improving the administration of justice in Nigeria.

He made this promise during the swearing-in ceremony of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) at the State House in Abuja.

Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and providing swift support to the judiciary, acknowledging its vital role in ensuring social order, peace, security, and economic development.

He encouraged Kekere-Ekun to remain steadfast in her commitment to the constitution and uphold justice, integrity, discipline, and transparency throughout her tenure.

Kekere-Ekun, the 23rd and second female CJN, pledged to elevate the judiciary by enhancing its reputation and strengthening public trust.

Tinubu applauded Kekere-Ekun’s distinguished family and professional background, highlighting her exceptional talent, dedication, and hard work.

He praised her remarkable career progression from magistrate to Supreme Court justice, describing her as an inspiration for young women aiming to shatter barriers.

The President also acknowledged the Supreme Court’s pivotal role in Nigeria’s development, resolving complex legal issues, and shaping public policy.

He expressed his confidence that the apex court would continue to be instrumental in shaping constitutional democracy and impacting all facets of Nigerian society.

Tinubu also extended his gratitude to Justice Kayode Ariwoola for his 33 years of honorable service to the judiciary and the nation, wishing him a fulfilling retirement.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State thanked President Tinubu for ensuring a smooth transition with the swearing-in of Kekere-Ekun as Acting CJN, commending her as an exceptional and rare individual.
