Here’s why the Yoruba Party in the UK exists

The YPUK was established to give the Yoruba access to electoral power in the United Kingdom

The Yoruba Party in the UK, a newly formed political party, contested the general elections in the UK but lost, sparking discussions on social media in Nigeria.

The party, founded by Olusola Oni, aimed to represent the interests of Yorubas in the Peckham constituency, which has a large Nigerian population, and promote Yoruba culture and achievements in the UK.

The Yoruba Party’s manifesto focused on tackling climate change, reducing taxes, improving national health services, and addressing immigration, with the belief that Britain’s actions in Africa contribute to the immigration crisis.

Despite the loss, the party seeks to empower Yoruba individuals in the UK, change negative perceptions of black Britons, and campaign for the Yoruba cause worldwide.
