Manchester City and Barcelona 'agree €55 million fee' for Bernardo Silva

Barcelona have agreed a fee with Manchester City for Bernardo Silva, reports in Spain claim.

The Portuguese international has been heavily linked with the Blaugrana and is believed to be keen on moving to the Nou Camp after five trophy-laden years in English football.

And according to journalist Gerard Romero, Barca have reached an agreement with City to sign the former Monaco midfielder for a fee between €50 million and €55 million.

It’s said City had been holding out for €100 million for Silva but Barca appear to be getting him for a fee closer to what the Premier League champions paid to bring him in in 2017.

Moreover, Romero claims that a move for Silva – which would make him Barca’s sixth signing of the summer – does not necessarily pave the way for Frenkie de Jong to leave the club.

President Joan Laporta’s dream is to have both players on the books and hopes De Jong is able to adjust his contract.

The club say they have found evidence of criminal actions on behalf of the previous board who signed his contract renewal in October 2020.

De Jong is believed to he owed £17 million in deferred wages and former Manchester United captain Gary Neville had encouraged him to take legal action against his employers…
