Bernardo breaks silence on Man City future amid Barcelona interest

Bernardo Silva admits he doesn’t know if he will still be at Manchester City beyond the transfer window, as he opened up on his uncertain future and a potential move to Barcelona for the first time this summer.

Barcelona want to sign Bernardo, and Pep Guardiola last week said he doesn’t know if the popular Portuguese playmaker will stay at City after September 1. However, Guardiola insisted City want Bernardo to stay, and despite reports this week, no bid has been received or accepted.

Now, Bernardo has spoken about his delicate situation, refusing to rule out a move out of City in the coming weeks and confirming his personal stance over leaving.

Speaking to ESPN, he said: “I’ve always said that I’m happy here but I have no idea what’s going to happen. We’ll see, honestly. My relationship with the club is very honest. I’ve been open with them and they know what I want.

“If I stay, I’m very happy and I will always respect this club and give all my best. If not, it’s football and we’ll just see what happens.”
