Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been eating alone in the Manchester United canteen as he remains determined on leaving the club this summer.

Erik ten Hag had previously insisted that the Portuguese icon was not for sale but his resolve is being tested after a difficult summer. The 37-year-old did not turn up to training along with the rest of the squad at the start of pre-season.

It led to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner being left at home as United flew off for Thailand and Australia while Ten Hag dropped Ronaldo to the bench against Brighton. He started against Brentford but it made little difference with the Red Devils suffering damaging defeats in both.

And according to The Athletic, the bad blood has continued over the summer with Ronaldo seemingly separating himself from the rest of the squad. That has included sitting alone in the canteen at the club’s Carrington training complex.

It has been further reported that Ronaldo and Ten Hag have been arguing over the manager’s tactics, which include pressing from the front. It is no secret that the Portugal international does not suit that style and it has led to friction between the player and coach…
