Germany beaten 4-1 by Japan in Wolfsburg

VIA SKY SPORTS:

Germany were beaten 4-1 by Japan in their own backyard to extend their winless run to five matches.

Japan, who also beat Germany in the World Cup group stages, took the lead in Wolfsburg on 11 minutes through Junya Ito – but Leroy Sane equalised eight minutes later.

Germany’s glee lasted just three minutes as Ayase Ueda restored Japan’s advantage, before late goals from Takuma Asano and Ao Tanaka gave the Asian club a memorable win.

Hansi Flick’s side, who have automatically qualified for next summer’s Euros as tournament hosts, have lost to Belgium, Poland and Colombia since their World Cup group stage exit in December, as well as drawing 3-3 to Ukraine.

The pressure has increased on Hansi Flick, with Germany’s next game another friendly against France.
