Luis Enrique fires Newcastle United warning as he identifies Howe’s big asset

CHRONICLE LIVE

Luis Enrique is warning Newcastle United that his PSG side will approach Tuesday night’s Champions League fixture like it is a ‘cup final’. The two sides go head-to-head in a crucial Group F fixture that will see Newcastle’s hopes of progressing through to the knockout stages extenguished with defeat.

The Magpies trail their second-place opponents by two points and know a positive result will set up an exciting final round of fixtures against AC Milan next month with everything to play for. Enrique knows all too well about Newcastle’s threat, with Eddie Howe’s men thumping Les Parisiens in the earlier fixture.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff and Fabian Schar capped off a night to remember for all those of a black and white persuasion inside St James’ Park that night.

The Spaniard, who watched on in disbelief as his side was torn apart by a ruthless Magpies, is particularly conscious of Newcastle’s intensity and has already warned his players about how important Tuesday night’s fixture will be.

GetFrenchFootballNews reported: “The competition could be very short for us, with only a few games left in a very complicated group and a very tight table. Their physical data is always at this level, they’re always very strong physically and they put pressure on the opposition. We know we have to be ready.
