Joshua fight descends into chaos as security forced to step in to split fighters

DAILY STAR

The conclusion to Anthony Joshua’s fight with Jermaine Franklin saw security forced to intervene at the final bell.

Joshua appeared to lean into his opponent after the final bell rang before giving him a tap on the head. The pair remained locked together for a number of seconds, before a member of Franklin’s corner intervened to try and separate the two fighters.

That sparked a free-for-all among the two corners, as members of both of Joshua and Franklin’s team rushed into the ring. They were followed by members of security as chaos engulfed the O2 Arena after a dramatic 12 rounds of excellent boxing.

The fight referee eventually managed to pull Joshua away from Franklin and the opposing corner as tensions finally simmered and both fighters retired to their corners ahead of the judges’ verdict…
