Euro 2024: Fullkrug’s late equalizer keeps Germany unbeaten in group stage

Germany managed to secure a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Sunday, thanks to a late goal from Niclas Fullkrug. The result ensured Germany’s position as Group A winners in Euro 2024, as they continue to show resilience and determination in the tournament.

Switzerland took the lead earlier in the match with a well-executed volley from Dan Ndoye, who capitalized on a Remo Freuler cross. Despite Germany’s efforts to equalize, the Swiss defense held strong for most of the game. However, Fullkrug’s stoppage-time strike ultimately denied Switzerland the victory.

The hosts will face the runner-up of Group C, potentially setting up a clash with Denmark. On the other hand, Switzerland finished in second place in Group A and will take on the second-place team from Group B, which could be Italy, Croatia, or Albania.
