I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear.

What happened in history today

1986 The space shuttle Challenger explodes just after liftoff.

President Ronald Reagan was scheduled to deliver the State of the Union that night, but his address was cancelled.

Instead he gave a televised speech from the Oval Office, now remembered as one of the finest ever delivered by a president.

“We will never forget them, nor the last time we saw them, this morning, as they prepared for their journey and waved goodbye and slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God,” he said.
