Thought for the day: 7 November 2023

The horrendous events that occurred in Israel one month ago today (October 7th) coupled with the barbarity that has been displayed in Gaza over the last three weeks show that peace, decency, sanity, and compassion have left the world and our collective humanity has been severely diminished.

The entire space from both sides of the divide has been filled by hot-headed warmongers who have lost all sense of reason and who are unable to exercise even the barest and minimum level of accommodation, compromise, and restraint.

Anger and the quest for vengeance drive the narrative and all voices of moderation have been drowned by the cacophony of voices of those who lust for bloodshed, war, and carnage.

May God in his infinite wisdom and abundant mercy heal our minds, restore peace to the world, and cause us all to stop, think, reflect, and behave like human beings again.

May all those beautiful souls that were kidnapped and abducted be released, may a ceasefire be put in place, and may the world find its sanity again.

May the souls of all those defenseless innocents who were brutally murdered in Israel one month ago and all those equally innocent and defenseless souls who are being killed in Gaza today rest in peace.
