Buhari govt mismanaged $100m loan – Minister of Women Affairs

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, the Minister of Women Affairs, has accused the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari of mismanaging a $100 million World Bank loan meant for women’s empowerment in Nigeria. The loan is part of a larger $500 million financing for the ‘Nigeria For Women Project’, aimed at improving the livelihood of Nigerian women.

Kennedy-Ohanenye claims that the first tranche of the loan, amounting to $100 million, was misused on meetings, advocacy, and consultancy services, instead of being utilized for its intended purpose. She made these statements during an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show, expressing her concerns about the misappropriation of funds meant to support women’s empowerment initiatives in the country.
