Former Miss South Africa contestant, Chidinma Adetshina, 23, has declared her interest in finding out more of her Nigerian descent.
Adetshina disclosed this in an interview with News Live SA posted on X.com on Thursday.
During the interview, she mentioned that she hadnโt visited the country in over 20 years and she is fascinated by the Nigerian culture.
She said, โIโm just really excited that Iโm in my fatherโs land and I wanna get to experience more about it.
Did you know a tribe that digs up corpses, dresses…
โItโs been 20 years since Iโve been here, so I just wanna get to know more about Nigeriaโs culture and where I really come from.โ
She further reiterated her interest in winning the Miss Universe Nigeria pageantry. โMy goal is to obviously win the crown for Miss Universe Nigeria,โ she said
Adetshina also urged people to learn from her story and be willing to embrace all cultures with the goal of living peacefully.
She said she is ready to embrace her diversity and try her best to merge both cultures, blend in and make the best of the experience.
PUNCH reports that Adetshina will be participating in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.
She was invited for the pageantry following her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa pageant, triggered by significant backlash over questions regarding her nationality.
