13-year-old with 168 IQ to pursue master’s at NYU…
A 13-year-old Long Island boy with an IQ of 168 has been accepted into a master’s programme at New York University, years ahead of the typical graduate student.
According to CBS News, Joe Petraro-Hyppolite will begin the programme next fall after completing his undergraduate degree, which he expects to finish in May.
Petraro-Hyppolite scored 1590 on the SAT at age 10 and earned his high school diploma at 11 before attending Louisiana State University.
His NYU master’s programme will focus on sports management, alongside kinesiology and biology.
His mother, Anne Petraro-Hyppolite, said her son loves learning, describing his achievements as surreal.
Despite his academic accomplishments, Petraro-Hyppolite said being gifted does not mean learning comes automatically. He eventually hopes to pursue paleontology.
