23 Boko Haram, ISWAP fighters killed in fresh Sambisa clash

At least 23 fighters have reportedly been killed in a fresh clash between rival Boko Haram and ISWAP factions over territorial control in Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

According to SaharaReporters, the fighting occurred around the Chingolo axis of Bama Local Government Area after ISWAP fighters reportedly advanced into the area.

Security sources said the confrontation involved prolonged gunfire, with casualties recorded on both sides. The clashes are linked to the longstanding rivalry between the factions over territory, resources, access routes and operational influence in and around Sambisa Forest.
