24 Presidential Villa police officers beg Tinubu over nine months’ unpaid allowances

Share:

Twenty-four Police Mobile Force (PMF) personnel attached to the Presidential Villa’s Press Escorts Unit have appealed to President Bola Tinubu over nine months of allegedly unpaid allowances.

The officers said the non-payment had subjected them and their families to financial hardship despite performing duties similar to colleagues receiving allowances.

In a petition addressed to Tinubu, the personnel urged the Federal Government to intervene and settle the outstanding payments.

“We are here to write on behalf of some 24 PMF personnel, Press Escorts Villa, Abuja. We have not received allowance for the past nine months, which some of our colleagues are collecting, and we did the same work,” they stated.

The officers said they were struggling to meet transportation, accommodation and family expenses.

“We are pleading with the government to consider our complaint and pay us our outstanding nine months’ allowance,” the petitioners said.

They maintained that prompt payment would ease their financial difficulties and enable them to continue performing their official responsibilities.
