Man Utd set to step up midfield search after Mason Mount injury

Manchester United are expected to intensify their search for a third midfield signing following Mason Mount’s injury in Saturday’s pre-season clash with Paris Saint-Germain, according to Football365. Mount, who started in a deeper midfield role, was forced off early after appearing to suffer a foot injury. The extent of the problem remains unclear.

United have already signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £50 million and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million this summer. However, the club had previously considered ending their midfield recruitment after using Mount alongside Santos, Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo. Mount’s injury history could now persuade INEOS to strengthen the position before the transfer window closes.
