ASP, colleagues nabbed for supplying weapons to bandits in Niger
An Assistant Superintendent of Police, identified as ASP Tanko, in charge of the Mopol 12 armoury in Niger State, has been arrested alongside two other officers over alleged illegal arms dealing with bandits.
According to The Sun Nigeria, police intercepted a vehicle conveying weapons along the Minna-Kontagora Road, leading to the arrest of two civilian suspects who implicated the officers.
The incident follows a similar case last year in which a Mopol 12 armoury head, DSP Isah Abdullahi, died by suicide over alleged arms supply to bandits.
