Nigerians can no longer afford decent living — Atiku
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said Nigerians are increasingly unable to afford homes, cars and basic household assets, citing the latest Central Bank of Nigeria Household Expectations Survey.
According to Punch Newspapers, Atiku’s spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, said the survey showed buying conditions for vehicles, consumer durables and property remained low, which he described as a verdict on the administration’s economic policies.
Atiku also referenced the SBM Jollof Index, noting that jollof rice ingredients for a family of five cost ₦29,578, more than 40% of the ₦70,000 minimum wage.
