Germany deports 137 Nigerians
Germany deported at least 137 Nigerian citizens across five documented chartered flight operations between February and June 2026, according to reports monitored by the DERS Team and Refugees4refugees.org, as reported by The PUNCH.
The deportations comprised 27 Nigerians in February, 37 as part of a 50-person joint EU operation in March, and 24, 23 and 26 in April, May and June respectively — indicating a steady increase in chartered deportation flights targeting Nigerians from Germany and cooperating European states.
One deportee in the February operation was described as severely ill and mentally unfit, transferred from Slovakia to join the Stuttgart-departing flight before arriving at Lagos Cargo Airport.
