Tinubu faces possible trouble as Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, Makinde explore new alliance
President Bola Tinubu faces a potential threat ahead of 2027 as the G100 group says it has completed a first round of consultations with six opposition parties, including Atiku Abubakar’s ADC and the NDC, where Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso hold key positions, according to Legit.ng.
Other parties involved include the PDP, PRP, SDP, and Seyi Makinde’s APM. The talks followed the G100’s August 2 Open Letter on the “Doctrine of Necessary Democratic Opposition.” The group announced a Summit of Opposition Parties for August 18 in Abuja to work out terms for a potential alliance, warning that a fragmented opposition weakens Nigerian voters’ choices.
