Trump signs executive order to cut recommended childhood vaccines
President Trump signed an executive order Monday reducing the number of recommended childhood vaccines and splitting the MMR shot into three separate doses, according to CNN, citing a draft obtained by the network.
Under the order, only high-risk children are now advised to receive shots like hepatitis A and B, meningococcal B and ACWY, and dengue vaccines, a shift from current guidance. Other vaccines, including rotavirus and COVID-19, will involve shared decision-making with doctors. The move follows Trump’s pressure on HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., despite no scientific evidence linking vaccines to autism.
