Peter Obi asks soldiers to reject salary increase? New fact emerges
NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi has strongly denied reports claiming he asked Nigerian soldiers to reject any salary increase until after the 2027 elections, describing the allegation as “entirely untrue” and reaffirming his commitment to improved military welfare, PM News reports.
“This assertion is entirely untrue,” Obi said, adding that his respect for security personnel “is unwavering.”
The former Anambra governor, who has consistently advocated better equipment and welfare for frontline troops, pledged that soldiers’ well-being would be “a paramount priority” under his presidency, saying: “Those who ensure Nigeria’s security must never be relegated to a secondary concern.”
