Steven Gerrard names several Man United players who are “not good enough”
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has launched a scathing assessment of Manchester United, pointing out several players who he believes are no longer at the required standard following a dismal 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, according to Metro.
Speaking on the Overlap Daily, Gerrard scrutinized the club’s recruitment and current squad depth under mounting pressure on manager Michael Carrick. Singling out specific members of the squad, Gerrard stated:
“Harry Maguire’s had a really good career, Luke Shaw, I played with Luke, he was top in his day. They’re not Manchester United players anymore. They should have been moved on quicker.”
He also questioned recent high-priced midfield arrivals, adding: “You look at the midfield, they signed a player from Chelsea, £50 million, Andrey Santos, not a Manchester United player.”
