Soldiers trying to stop me from entering Osun – Davido cries out
Afrobeats superstar Davido has alleged that soldiers are attempting to prevent him from entering Osun State on election day, vowing to exercise his constitutional right to freedom of movement despite the reported blockade.
“I’ve been reliably informed that soldiers are trying to prevent me from entering Osun tomorrow, this won’t happen, every citizen of Nigeria has the right to movement at any point of time,” Davido wrote on his verified X account early Saturday.
The Punch reports that the singer — a nephew of incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke who has actively campaigned for his uncle’s re-election under the Accord Party — made the claim hours after the Nigeria Police Force announced a movement restriction across Osun State from midnight Friday until 6:00 p.m. Saturday for the governorship election.
