Supreme Court temporarily backs continued construction of White House ballroom
The Supreme Court has temporarily allowed President Donald Trump to continue construction on a new White House ballroom, freezing a lower court ruling that would have halted work at midnight Friday, according to CNN.
Friday’s order does not address the project’s legality, which two courts have said Trump is pursuing unlawfully without congressional approval. Instead, it gives justices more time to consider Trump’s request to pause the adverse rulings indefinitely.
A 250-person crew has reportedly been working 20-hour days, seven days a week, with the administration stating the ballroom complex is now 65% complete overall.
