Fire guts Nigerian railway shopping complex in Ibadan, destroys millions in goods
Goods worth millions of naira have been destroyed in a fire that razed three shops at the Nigerian Railway shopping complex in Ibadan, according to Daily Post. The fire, which started around 5 a.m. on Saturday, affected shops along the Aleshinloye market road before firefighters were alerted.
Trader Busari Olayemi said the blaze destroyed products worth about N21 million, including window blinds, curtain fabrics, and industrial sewing machines.
Oyo State Fire Service Chairman Maroof Akinwande confirmed the incident, clarifying it occurred at the Nigerian Railway complex rather than Aleshinloye, and said the fire had since been extinguished.
