Tinubu appoints Olejeme, Edu — both facing corruption allegations — to 2027 campaign council
President Bola Tinubu has appointed Ngozi Olejeme and Betta Edu, both facing unresolved corruption allegations, to his 2027 re-election campaign council, Peoples Gazette reports.
Olejeme, currently on trial for N1 billion fraud, was named zonal director for election planning in the South-South, while Edu, sacked as humanitarian affairs minister over an alleged N585 million diversion, was appointed director of women mobilisation.
The appointments were announced by Bayo Onanuga on Saturday. EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed investigations into Edu’s case remain ongoing, saying, “Criminal investigation takes time… We are still working on her matter.”
