Turkey demands Netanyahu’s arrest…
Turkey has asked Interpol to issue a red notice seeking the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over allegations linked to Israel’s interception of Gaza-bound aid activists.
According to The New York Times, the request forms part of a Turkish criminal case accusing Netanyahu and another Israeli suspect of offences including genocide, crimes against humanity and torture.
Turkish Justice Minister Akin Gurlek said the case concerns Israel’s interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters.
Netanyahu’s office rejected Ankara’s action, accusing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of attempting to intimidate Israel as tensions between both countries continue to escalate.
