Atiku to FBI: Don’t shield Tinubu, Nigerians, not Americans, are at risk
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has appealed to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation not to withhold records on President Bola Tinubu from public scrutiny, according to Peoples Gazette.
In a statement by aide Phrank Shaibu, Atiku argued that Nigerians face daily hardship from insecurity and economic hardship, and questioned invoking “danger to life” to justify secrecy. He insisted he wasn’t seeking exposure of agents or sources, only lawfully disclosable information relevant to Tinubu’s record.
Atiku also reaffirmed plans to reinstate a targeted, audited fuel subsidy if elected, blaming Tinubu’s subsidy removal for worsening citizens’ living conditions.
