Police, Amotekun foil kidnap operation, recover N1.5m in Ondo
According to Vanguard, police and Amotekun operatives rescued two abducted victims and recovered N1.5 million in ransom money following a shootout in Isua-Akoko forest, Ondo State.
The outlet reports security operatives ambushed suspected kidnappers along the Ifira-Idoani axis, exchanging gunfire before rescuing victims Owolabi Patrick and Asoto Dada unhurt. Vanguard says three suspects — Abdullahi Abubakar, Ibrahim Abubakar, and Oseni Abubakar — were later arrested in follow-up operations after sustaining gunshot injuries, and were identified by victims as their abductors.
Police spokesman DSP Jimoh Abayomi said the case has been handed to the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation, per the report.
