VDM Reacts to Igbo Traders’ Protest Against Chinese Traders, Says “The World Has Advanced”

Social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) has reacted to the protest by Igbo traders demanding Chinese traders leave Lagos markets, Legit.ng reports.

The traders accused Chinese competitors of undercutting their prices, chanting “Chinese Must Go” during the demonstration.

In an Instagram video, VDM pushed back, arguing Nigerian traders had failed to keep pace with global business trends and should invest in local production instead of blaming foreign competition.

He warned that Nigeria’s heavy reliance on Chinese visas to source goods left traders vulnerable if China retaliated.

The comments triggered mixed reactions online, with several fans defending the traders and blaming government failures on power supply and local manufacturing instead.

The backlash shows VDM’s remarks have reignited debate over who is truly responsible for Nigerian traders’ struggles.
