Veteran actor Olu Jacobs dies at 84
Veteran Nigerian actor and film executive, Olu Jacobs, has died at the age of 84.
PUNCH reports that his death was announced by his son, Olusoji Jacobs, on Instagram on Wednesday. The family described him as “The Lion of Lufodo” and appealed to bloggers and social media influencers to respect its privacy.
Jacobs, born on July 11, 1942, was one of Nollywood’s most respected veteran actors, with a career spanning theatre, television and film. He won the 2007 Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor and received several honours, including the 2011 national honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic.
