Chelsea have suffered a fresh injury concern after striker Joao Pedro withdrew from Brazil’s squad for the upcoming international break. According to the London Evening Standard, the forward missed training after playing the full 90 minutes and scoring in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Hull.
Brazil confirmed that Pedro is injured and will be replaced by Fluminense midfielder Martinelli for the upcoming friendlies against Australia and India. The severity of Pedro’s injury remains unclear, with Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso expected to provide an update ahead of the Premier League trip to Brentford. Pedro has scored three goals and registered three assists in four league appearances this season.
