‘N200m per performance’: AY reveals shocking cost of booking Nigerian music stars

Nigerian comedian AY has revealed that some of the country’s biggest music stars now command fees of up to N200 million to perform at his flagship AY Live comedy concert, with even lesser-known artistes demanding as much as N80 million for appearances.

According to Daily Post, AY made the disclosure while reflecting on how dramatically the economics of booking Nigerian music talent has shifted over the years, noting that stars like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage and Olamide had all previously graced the AY Live stage — with many of those early appearances made possible primarily through personal relationships rather than commercial negotiations.

The revelation highlights the explosive growth of Nigeria’s entertainment industry and the premium now placed on its leading musical exports, whose global profiles have significantly elevated their commercial value at home and abroad.
