Man United reject JJ Gabriel exit request as Barcelona move emerges

Manchester United have rejected JJ Gabriel’s request to leave the club, but the highly rated 15-year-old could still depart amid reported interest from Barcelona. According to The Irish Times, United are unwilling to deregister Gabriel and are attempting to convince him to remain at Old Trafford.

However, the youngster could potentially exploit a FIFA rule when he turns 16 on October 6. Gabriel, who is eligible for an Irish passport through his father Joe O’Cearuill, has reportedly travelled to Barcelona for talks. Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the teenager.
